I was delighted to walk around Granton with Angela Casey from the Edinburgh Outdoors podcast in 2025. Angela had not walked here before, so it was a pleasure to show her around some of the local businesses and recount some history in this edgeland of Edinburgh. Although Granton is being rapidly developed, it has a rich industrial history. New activities are starting up here all the time, and it is naturally attracting increasing numbers of visitors. Meanwhile, we are happy to have more going on here to add to our wonderful coastline, heritage assets (eg the Gastower that can be famously seen from all over the north side of the city is one), and rewilded brownfield sites.
